Double Diamond… its name implies value and brilliance, and that’s exactly the reputation this 184-acre ranch has upheld for 12 years.  Located just 20 minutes northwest of San Antonio and 5 minutes west of Boerne, the ranch sits at the edge of Texas’ famously beautiful Hill Country.  Double Diamond Ranch was designed to play a role at the top of the state's horse industry and it has consistently been operated as one of the leading private equine training and reproduction centers in the world.  Now, however, there are changes in the wind.

Ted Blanch, owner of Double Diamond Ranch and developer of the surrounding Diamond Ridge area, has announced that the state of the art facility, Double Diamond Equestrian Center (DDEC) is open for boarding to horse lovers of all breeds, also opening their doors to accommodate trainers with clients as well.  DDEC can also safely accommodate stallions, and welcomes mares, geldings and foals of any age.

DDEC is an opportunity for boarders and trainers to enjoy the amenities of a truly unique and up-scale boarding facility. The Equestrian Center has over 80,000 square feet under one roof, designed with both the horses and their owners in mind.  All 80+ stalls are 12’x12’ in the main barn, each equipped with stall mats, automatic water, overhead lighting and fan.  Over half the stalls have windows overlooking the picturesque surroundings.  The facility also offers 24-hour staff and security.

Double Diamond Equestrian Center is not only impressive, but more importantly, it is functional. The centerpiece of the facility is the lighted 110’ by 200’ indoor arena, with large exhaust fans on both sides of the arena to eliminate overheating in the summer.  There are 3 hot walkers (1 covered), 4 round pens (2 covered), a full size outdoor sand arena, 8 spaciously lit cross-tie grooming stalls, 4 wash stalls with hot and cold water, turnout paddocks and shelters, and numerous grass pastures and bountiful lakes.

For the convenience and comfort of the boarders, there are 2 large tack rooms with tack lockers, as well as an air-conditioned lounge/kitchen in the back of the main barn.   In the front area of the main barn are the ranch offices and the formal lounge area.  Above the ranch offices and formal lounge is the air-conditioned banquet room, with a full commercial kitchen, and a cocktail bar/lounge area which overlooks both the indoor arena and the Hill Country landscape.  It is available to clients to rent for private functions.

Leading the Equestrian Center’s management team will be Victoria Blanch, daughter of owner Ted Blanch. Her involvement in the horse industry, and Double Diamond Ranch, over the past several years has given her the talent and skills to provide exceptional care for all boarding horses.
