Each year, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association honors the best of the best in contract personnel, stock contractors and rodeo committees during the annual Contract Personnel Awards Banquet at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The Large Rodeos (those with more that $10,000 added per event) are broken into Outdoor and Indoor categories.  Five finalists were selected from the 46 rodeos in the indoor category, and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo took home the prestigious honor for the second time in a row this year.  Because nominees and winners are voted on by their peers in the industry, it is considered a great honor to be selected.

Executive Director Keith Martin says, “We are very excited to be honored for the second year in a row.  It’s especially rewarding as our peers in the industry voted to select us. I’m humbled by our volunteers, who made this possible.”

During the Banquet, Keith Martin was also personally recognized with a rough stock remuda award, in recognition of the outstanding work he has done in advancing the quality of rodeo by inviting only the highest quality stock to the San Antonio Rodeo.

San Antonio also recently announced plans to increase its purse size to over $1 million in 2007, making it one of the top two paying regular season rodeos in the country.
