San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Wins PRCA’s Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year Accreditation
   
Las Vegas – The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is honored to announce that yet another banner will be displayed from the AT&T Center rafters when the annual Stock Show and Rodeo takes place this January 31-February 17.   Amongst the four championship banners belonging to the Spurs, an unprecedented third PRCA Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year banner will be added next to the awards the Stock Show and Rodeo has received the last two years!

Several San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo management staff, Executive Committee members and organization volunteers were on hand Wednesday night to accept the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year award.

“We are so proud to be recognized and nominated here with our industry peers, but the real happiness comes from accepting this award on behalf of our 4000 plus volunteers that make our organization so special, as well as the entire city of San Antonio and the surrounding communities that support us each year!” SALE Executive Director and CEO Keith Martin said.

This win marks the third consecutive year the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo has been named the recipient of this prestigious industry award and the organization could not be more delighted; marking victories in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

San Antonio has been innovators in the sport of rodeo during this time period by limiting contestant entries to bring only rodeo’s top competitors to the event, recruiting world-class animal athletes and bucking stock from the nation’s best contractors, increasing its purse size to over $1 million in 2007 to make it one of the top two paying regular season rodeos in the country and covering the entry fee contestants pay to enter the rodeo competition in 2008.

Each year, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association honors the best of the best in rodeo professionals, stock contractors and rodeo committees during their annual Contract Personnel Awards Banquet at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas before the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, the Super Bowl of the rodeo industry, kicks off at the Thomas & Mack Center. Because nominees and winners are voted on by their peers in the industry, it is considered a great honor to be selected.
