This year Ropin’ Dreams
was honored to team up with the CBR to sponsor the “Ropin’ Dreams Name
the Bull Contest”. It was through this contest that was televised
on GAC each time the CBR was televised has given Ropin’ Dreams the
exposure to 500,000 households resulting in children being nominated
throughout the country. Ropin’ Dreams will create “dreams” next
year in many states and has made the commitment to help these children
experience, often times, a once in a life time experience.
Such was the case of
Sheelbe Roberts from Seminole, TX. Ropin’ Dreams was introduced
to 6-year-old Sheeble at the YBR World Championship Finals in Abilene
in August of this year. Sheelbe has a brain tumor and has been
undergoing treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, and it was discovered
that every time Sheelbe went through San Antonio, she cried because she
wanted to go to Sea World. Upon learning about this, Ropin’
Dreams along with some very generous assistance from Sea World brought
her to San Antonio for a VIP experience at Sea World, going behind the
scenes, petting dolphins and seeing a side of Sea World few ever get to
experience. It was a time for the family to spend some quality
time away from the hospital environment and spend time together, making
memories for all as a family.
On November 5th, Ropin’
Dreams will be having its 10th annual fundraiser with the Central Texas
Cowboy Gathering at the Comal County Fairgrounds. There will be Team
Roping on Friday night, and Saturday is action-packed. Beginning
with the Horsehoe/Washer Tournament at 10 a.m to the Ranch Rodeo
beginning at 1 p.m. Chuck Wagons will be serving world famous
Cowboy Stew & Cornbread and at 6 p.m. the action moves back into
the arena with MUTTON BUSTIN, followed by the Bull Riding at 7 p.m,
with a dance to follow at 9 p.m. This is the only fundraiser for
the year that allows Ropin’ Dreams to reach children through out the
coming year.
This year alone Ropin’
Dreams has impacted over 75 children and their families across Texas,
Louisiana, and Mississippi and has children nominated from across the
country. For more information about the organization or how to
