We all know an ad, which includes a photo of the horse, will get more attention from potential buyers as well as all interested visitors.

By putting your photo and pedigree online you will save buyers and yourself time, as a picture is worth a thousand words.

Generally you find ads including photos and pedigree will sell quicker and get the most for their horse.  

All photo ads are presented first in each category before text ads are shown.

Whether you are selling horse property, trailers, saddles, pickups, or pets,  photo ads get the best results! We encourage you to include a photo with your ad today and maximize your ads exposure!

If you know how to send a picture of your horse by email then you know how to place the picture in your ad .

1. The image (photo) must be on your computer. It may be on disk, CD, or floppy.

2. The image must be a JPG, GIF, or PNG format. All other formats are rejected by the system. JPG is our preferred format.

3. When placing your ad choose ‘Browse’ button and go to the image on your computer and select it.

4. Choose ‘browse’ to select an attachment of a pedigree. It must be on your computer and in Word or PDF format

5. Submit your ad.

You will go to a page that explains you will be charged $5 and taken to PayPal.
When you have completed the payment process your picture and pedigree will show up immediately with your ad. It’s that simple!

If you attached a picture with your ad and did not complete the payment process, the photo will not show up and your ad is treated as a text ad.

Image Preparation Tips

Before you submit your picture classified ad, here are some guidelines to ensure your picture will show up with your ad.

There is a size limit of 80K   if the picture is larger than 80K, or in the wrong format, your picture will not show up with your ad.

600 pixels wide x 400 pixels tall at 72 DPI is best!

The file should be in “jpg” format (filename should end with “.jpg”) if you submit a “gif” or “bmp” file, your picture will not show up with your ad.

If you don’t have your own scanner, or don’t know how to get a digital copy of your picture, Just about any photo developer such as Wal-Mart, grocery stores, Walgreen’s or places such as Kinko’s can copy the images from your film, slide or picture onto a CD or diskette for a very reasonable fee. Then you merely attach the picture you choose with your ad. IF you want to change the picture later, you can log in and do so, at any time before the ad expires, at no charge.

If you do not know how to resize a picture, you can email the picture along with the ad number to advertising@horsegazette.com and it will be resized and attached to your ad. We MUST have your ad number on the subject line or included in the email message. The size limit for emailing an image to us is 1MB.
